Drama as Zimbabwean University student is recorded by hidden camera whilst stealing from roommate
There was free Drama at a the Harare Institute of Technology an elite University located in Belvedere when a first year student Tafadzwa Karigambe was recorded by a hidden camera whilst stealing from his roommate. Details gathered by iHarare are that the victim a Mr Bekithemba was really pissed and flabbergasted by the consistent disappearance of money, food items and other paraphenalia in his hostel room. The setup of hostel rooms at most state universities is such that two students share one room that’s semi divided by a wall which contains a makeshift wardrobe and cupboards on either side. So basically either of the roommates has access to the other side.
Since there was only one other person with access to the room Mr Bekithemba decided to set a trap with the aid of a hidden camera. Tafadzwa , the thief oblivious to Mr Bekithemba’s exceptional thief busting techniques embarked on his raids as usual. The video is filled with humour as he fails to locate either money or foodstuff in the wardrobe. He then searches under the pillow in vain, undeterred he abruptly leaves the roommate’ side only to resurface with a chair from his side. He then gets onto the chair and searches the top cupboard in the hopes of finding goodies stashed in there. Unfortunately for him there is nothing either and he leaves unbeknownst that his mischief was being recorded on camera.
The victim has a very good sense of humour as he modestly edited the video and captioned it with very funny subtitles.
This video is a must watch, a classic example of how engineers are not only capable of coming up with complex engineering innovations but great humour also.
iHarare moles inform us that the thief has been kicked out of the hostels but no police report was made.
