Award winning Mbare born and bred chanter Killer is alleged to have assaulted fellow chanter Platinum Prince over “dirty lyrics”. The charismatic chanter reportedly hit the controversial Mabvuku based artist with the metal buckle of his belt at a rehearsal session in Mbare on Friday around 4pm, where they were preparing for their debut Harare International Festival of the Arts Performance.
The two artistes are set to perform at the Zim dancehall night on the closing of the Hifa 2014. Speaking to reporters, Platinum Prince said that Killer T beat him up because of his song Hanzi which Mocks Killer T in one of the verses that says ” Hakuna pfuti inoriraichiti popopo, mapopcorn ndoanodaro”
“He hit me with the buckle of his belt on my hand, taitoita marehearsals neband ekuHIFA. He was stopped by his Manager DJ Bima and DJ Fantan. Ndaida kutoenda kuPolice but his Manager akazoreasoner neni and I forgave him but next time if he takes musical things personal and stays violent he is going behind bars. I was disturbed by his behaviour, turning to violence means wakurirwa kufunga,” he said.
Killer T’s manager, DJ Bima confirmed the incident but said he was not around when the altercation started,” Yes it happened but takataurirana na Platinum Prince zvikapera. Call Killer Tee munzwe kuti chii chakanyatsoitika, ” he said.
Reached for a comment, Killer Tee, the former hwindi downplayed the issue and scorned Platinum Prince ” Ha KuMbare hatiite chirukaz, musamutedzere uyo ndovafana vanouraya bhasikoro, vasina zvigunwe mubhutsu,“.
The Platinum Prince-Killer T Incident becomes the second violent act between Zim Dancehall singers within a month after the Quonfused-Seh Calaz Incident.
